Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about ClubTaxi
On this page you will find answers to frequently asked questions about booking a taxi, fares, luggage, airport transfers and the way ClubTaxi operates.
If you cannot find the answer to your question, please contact us by email. Please note that email is not suitable for arranging urgent bookings.
Booking and Reservations
Can I book a taxi by phone?
No. ClubTaxi accepts online reservations only.
By using our online booking form, both you and ClubTaxi have exactly the same booking details. This greatly reduces the risk of misunderstandings about the pickup address, date, time, number of passengers, luggage and destination. If, for any reason, you are unable to use the booking form, you may send us an email containing all the information required to assess and schedule your journey.
Please include at least:
- your name and contact details;
- the full pickup address;
- the date and preferred pickup time;
- your destination;
- the number of passengers;
- the amount of luggage;
- and, if applicable, your flight number.
An email request is not suitable for journeys that need to be arranged within a few hours. Please do not expect us to arrange a taxi by email for a trip departing, for example, two hours after your message has been sent.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier you book, the greater the chance that your preferred pickup time will still be available.
Especially for airport transfers, we recommend not waiting until the last minute. Journeys to an airport are much easier to plan than journeys from an airport. Arriving flights are affected by factors such as:
- flight delays;
- revised landing times;
- passport control waiting times;
- and baggage reclaim delays.
As a result, our capacity for airport pickups is more limited than for airport drop-offs.
If your highest priority is arriving at the airport well in time for your flight, ClubTaxi is more likely to be able to meet your needs. For your return journey, you can always choose to use a transport platform if that better suits your schedule.
Why has my booking request been declined?
The most common reason is simply that no vehicles are available. However, we also have to decline requests when essential information is missing, such as:
- personal details;
- a complete address;
- contact information;
- the number of passengers;
- luggage information;
- or a valid flight number.
A booking request is the final step before entering into an agreement. Therefore, we can only process requests where it is clear who is travelling, what transport is required, when, from where, and to which destination.
If you only want to check a published fare, there is no need to submit an incomplete booking request. The prices displayed on our website are accurate and up to date. For example, if our website states that a journey from Den Bosch to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol costs €145, then that is the fare under the stated conditions.
Incomplete requests are not treated as invitations to complete the booking by telephone or negotiate the fare.
Prices and Payment
How much does a taxi ride cost?
In most cases, our website allows you to see the fare before making a reservation. For journeys with guaranteed availability, the booking system confirms the fare during the second step of the reservation process.
In other cases, you first submit a booking request. If we have availability, we will send you the fare by email. Submitting a request does not create a booking. A reservation only becomes binding after you have explicitly accepted both the journey and the quoted fare. You can therefore request a quotation without any obligation. Your booking will only be confirmed after your approval.
When and how do I pay for my taxi?
In most cases, payment is made after the journey.
After arrival you can pay by:
- a payment link (for customers with a Dutch bank account);
- debit card;
- credit card;
- or cash.
Advance payment is only required if you specifically request it, for example when you wish to give the journey as a gift or when someone else is paying for the ride. In that case, please contact us in advance. We will send you a secure payment link and register the booking as prepaid.
ClubTaxi does not charge any additional fees for payments made by debit card, credit card or payment link.
Luggage and Transport
How should I enter my luggage?
When selecting your vehicle, always follow the guidelines provided in our Taxi Selector.
One piece of hand luggage or a small cabin trolley counts as half a luggage unit. Two small cabin trolleys therefore count as one large suitcase. Entering your luggage correctly helps prevent booking a minivan unnecessarily when a standard passenger car provides sufficient space. Please follow the instructions on our Taxi Selector page before making your reservation.
If you have unusually large or oversized luggage, please mention this clearly in your booking request, including the dimensions.
Can I bring a bicycle?
Usually not.
The luggage compartment of a passenger minivan is often smaller than people expect. While it accommodates more passengers, this does not automatically mean there is enough room for one or more bicycles.
If you need to transport a bicycle, we recommend choosing a taxi company that offers:
- a bicycle rack; or
- a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
These vehicles generally offer considerably more usable loading space.
Can I bring my pet?
In many cases, yes, by prior arrangement.
Please mention your pet when making your booking request. A pet occupies space and is therefore taken into account when determining the required vehicle capacity. If your pet travels in a kennel, crate or travel carrier, please indicate this as special luggage and provide its dimensions. Based on the animal, its transport method, the number of passengers and the amount of luggage, we will determine whether the journey can be carried out with the available vehicle.
Schiphol and Other Airports
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We monitor your flight using the flight number provided with your booking.
In the event of a delay, we will wait as long as reasonably possible. As a minimum, we allow for delays of up to two hours beyond the original scheduled arrival time. For exceptionally long delays, our ability to continue waiting depends on our remaining schedule and vehicle availability. We always try to find the best possible solution, although unlimited waiting cannot be guaranteed.
Will my taxi arrive on time?
Yes.
Punctuality is one of the main reasons why customers choose ClubTaxi. We carefully plan our journeys and take traffic conditions, roadworks and other factors into account whenever necessary. Our goal is simple: you should be able to depart at the agreed time and, particularly for airport transfers, arrive comfortably before your flight.
Domestic and International Destinations
Does ClubTaxi provide international journeys?
Yes, but not to every country.
For international passenger transport, VAT must be declared and paid in the country where the kilometres are driven.
ClubTaxi is VAT registered in:
- the Netherlands;
- Belgium;
- Germany.
We can therefore provide journeys that take place exclusively within these countries. Unfortunately, we cannot accept journeys that require travel through other countries.
Fares for Belgium and Germany may differ considerably from our standard Dutch rates. International journeys may involve additional costs and different tax regulations. For example, transport to Brussels may require a local day permit. Germany also applies different VAT rates to taxi transport depending on the distance and type of journey. For this reason, international fares are quoted on request only.
About ClubTaxi
Where does the name ClubTaxi come from?
ClubTaxi is not a taxi club for drivers, nor is it a traditional membership organisation.
The name refers to a community of returning customers who regularly use taxi services. To us, a customer is not someone who books only once, but someone who chooses to travel with us again after a positive experience.
For your first booking, you use our online reservation system. This ensures that all journey details are accurately recorded. For future journeys, it is often best to contact the driver who previously transported you. The driver can then check availability with our planning department on your behalf.
This personal contact can be helpful when there is some flexibility. For example, if you can be picked up five or ten minutes earlier or later, our planners may be able to accommodate your request. However, drivers cannot confirm bookings independently. A journey is only confirmed once it has been accepted and scheduled by our planning department.
Why do customers choose ClubTaxi?
Customers choose ClubTaxi because of our:
- fixed fare agreed in advance;
- clear online booking process;
- reliable airport transfer service;
- excellent customer reviews;
- experienced drivers;
- careful journey planning;
- punctual service;
- and clear communication.
We do not aim to be the largest taxi company. Our focus is on providing reliable, personal and well-organised transportation.
Is ClubTaxi allowed to use Amsterdam's bus and tram lanes?
Yes.
ClubTaxi drivers hold the required permits to use Amsterdam's bus and tram lanes wherever local regulations allow. The use of these lanes always depends on local traffic regulations, road signs and the conditions attached to the permits.
Is ClubTaxi allowed to use Rotterdam's bus lanes?
Partly.
Our electric taxis hold permits for the designated Rotterdam bus lanes. This does not apply to every vehicle or every bus lane. Permission depends on the vehicle, the specific location and the conditions of the permit.
